Saturday June 3rd, 2023

Foster our spirit of community, celebrate local musicians, and connect with our neighbors as we raise money for the fight against Alzheimer’s.

 About Bexley Porchfest

We are going to bring the national “PorchFest” movement to Bexley - and put our own spin on it.

Bexley PorchFest will be a free, neighbor-driven day celebrating music and community.

Who is this for? Everyone! PorchFest is family-friendly even featuring musicians from a wide variety of genres.

The details:

  • The second annual Bexley PorchFest will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, from 1 PM to 7 PM.

  • We are again bringing the national “PorchFest” movement (which currently holds 150+ events across North America) to Bexley, OH (the first community in Central Ohio to host a PorchFest) – and put our own spin on it.

  • Bexley PorchFest will be a free, neighbor-driven day celebrating music and community, featuring musicians from a wide variety of genres. We are excited to build on last year’s unimagined success, which saw over 2,000 attendees enjoy a beautiful day of music!

  • Local musicians will play live music on the porches, front yards, and patios of homes across Central Bexley. Music will be spread over 11 stages, featuring 23 acts.

  • A map with porches and performers will be available, and neighbors are encouraged to walk or bike around the area which will have closed streets.

  • Food trucks/beer tents will be serving food and non-alcoholic/adult beverages – proceeds will be given to the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

  • THIS IS A FREE EVENT! BOTTOMLESS BEER MUG TICKETS ARE ONLY NEEDED IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ENJOY ADULT BEVERAGES IF YOU ARE 21+ OTHERWISE, ONCE AGAIN: THIS IS A FREE EVENT FOR ALL!!!

 Tip The Musicians

Please show your support by tipping the PorchFest musicians. Please write in who you would like the tip to go to. You can also indicate if you would like your tip to be divided among all of the musicians.

 FAQs

  • We hope our community feels empowered to get involved however they see fit, and we'd love for this event to be as self-sustaining as possible. This is year two so who knows where this can go!?

That can mean a lot of things, so here are just a few ideas for 2024 as we grow: host local musicians on your porch or front yard, spread the word and encourage your neighbors to come out and enjoy the day with you, put out a couple lawn chairs if you have 'em, or reach out to the local musicians and see if they could use any help. Have something special in mind? Let us know by emailing us at bexleybrewfest@gmail.com.

  • Tipping musicians is encouraged! Each venue will have a tip jar set up and any tips received during each performance will go directly to those musicians. No cash? No problem! You can also tip musicians online and via Venmo QR codes scattered throughout the event and at each porch!

  • Yes, there will be accessible porta potties available throughout the PorchFest area. You can view the map for locations. Please note that porch hosts will not provide restrooms.

  • Nope! This is a free event open to the public. Make sure you swing by one of the Brewery tents to pick up a booklet with a map, schedule and information about each of our musicians performing!

The only tickets for sale will be for one of our bottomless beer mugs if you are 21+!

  • We ask that you do not bring your own alcoholic beverages to Bexley PorchFest. In keeping with local laws, we will be selling alcoholic beverages available for consumption at three locations throughout the PorchFest area. 2Tones Brewing, Holy Trinity Brewing, Seventh Son Brewing and Buzzsaw Brewing (all friends of Bexley BrewFest), along with Grain & Grape will have their delicious beverages readily available for those 21 + with proper ID. All alcoholic beverages must be consumed within the boundaries of the PorchFest area.

  • Again, we ask that you do not bring your own alcoholic beverages to Bexley PorchFest. If you’d like to bring your own picnic it is more than welcome (and encouraged!) but we’d also ask you to consider purchasing your meals from one of our five food trucks that we have booked for the PorchFest event and will be located together on Dale Ave.

  • Yes. S. Dawson between Seneca Park Pl. and Fair will be closed. Plymouth, Dale, Elm and Seneca Park, between S. Dawson and Cassady will also all be closed.

  • Rules for pets are the same as they would be at any other time in Bexley. That said, please be aware that homeowners may have different preferences when it comes to dogs and, as this is an event centered around music, please be considerate, and as best you can please do not let dog (or people!) noise interfere with our performing artists.

  • We are going to do our best to coordinate the flow of music, and are asking musicians to be vigilant about volume. Our PorchFest Volunteer squad and Musicians are responsible for gauging the space between porches and adjusting their volumes for that.

  • Our focus is on local musicians, whether from Bexley or Central Ohio. There may be a couple of exceptions!

  • Any money that we receive first goes to pay our operating expenses (advertising, printing costs, website hosting, beer/wine, port-a-potties etc.), and the rest of those dollars go directly to Hops & Gather the 501c3 non-profit foundation behind our annual schedule of events (Bexley BrewFest, Bexley PorchFest and The Bexley Hop Up Beer Garden). From there, our foundation seeks out people and organizations that are working to fight Alzheimer’s, to improve the quality of life of those with dementia, and to provide crucial caregiver support and we award them grants to further their efforts.
